TURTLE ISLAND is a cooperative venture presented each year at the National Reptile Breeders Expo in Daytona Beach, Florida. TURTLE ISLAND provides visitors to this world's largest herpetoculture trade show access to the top turtle and tortoise keepers and breeders, some of the foremost turtle and tortoise experts in the world, and access to the most recent chelonian literature in a variety of languages. TURTLE ISLAND includes Wayne Hill (Expo promoter and private turtle and tortoise breeder, Vic Morgan (private tortoise breeder and recipient of the Breeder of the Year award in 2005), Russ Gurley (author, Director of the Turtle and Tortoise Preservation Group, and owner of LIVING ART publishing), Richard and Jerry Fife (owners of Fife Reptiles and Riparian Farms, breeders of turtles and tortoises, including the Ivory Tortoises), David Fabius (owner of Centro Herpetologico Uruguay and breeder of some of the most exciting South American species in captivity), Hans-Dieter Philippen (author and one of the most active turtle and tortoise conservationist in Europe), Dennis Uhrig (private breeder who houses one of the world's most impressive collections of freshwater turtles), Bill Murray (tortoise breeder), and Richard Miller DVM (Aldabra King) . We encourage all visitors to the Expo to visit TURTLE ISLAND and to meet us! We represent breeding programs from a dozen states as well as Europe and South America. This year, we expect to have at least three new books to offer as well as over 80 species of captive-hatched turtles and tortoises available!
